Benoît Pioulard – Of Everything That Rhymes

One of our favorite releases so far this year has been from Benoît Pioulard, who, believe it or not, is not some esoteric underground Parisian artist but the pseudonym for Michigan native Thomas Meluch. This selection is from his new album Sonnet which was recently released on Chicago label Kranky, and it’s one of many fantastic tracks on the full length. The track rolls through emotional swells of nearly Sigur Ros proportions throughout. Each lift feels unique and fresh and the track ends with a simple keys part, offering some peaceful closure to a massive ray of terrestrial glow.
