Another fantastic contribution we recently found from our friends at Students of Decay. This is a set of tracks from Montreal artist Kyle Bobby Dunn titled “Kyle Bobby Dunn and the Infinite Sadness”; a title more fitting to Dunn’s work than its parent allusion. He offers us a nice collection of ambient minimalism tracks, the sounds from which were recorded in several disparate Canadian towns, including Belleville and Dorset, and the mixing process was done at L’auberge de Dunn Studios in his home town of Montreal. Without meaning to dishonor Dunn’s definitive uniqueness I’d like to go ahead and take the “most obvious reference” award today by making a Sigur Ros comparison, considering the swelling guitars and endless reverb. But really who doesn’t love a good Sigur Ros protege?
